About Custom Interactives
From years of escape room design, fabrication and management, Custom Interactives was born. Co-founders Paul and Eric use the following escape room industry methodologies and practices:
Escape Room Gamification Process
Logic - Embedded in every escape room is an intelligence that users interpret. The game designer crafted a series of puzzles and clues and left them for others to solve. The exhilaration of knowing that a seemingly impossible task does in fact have an intelligent solution allows users to lose themselves in the experience knowing their goal is attainable.
Time - A time limit is an essential aspect of every escape room. It would be easy to solve a puzzle given an unlimited about of time - you might even arrive upon the answer through mindless trial and error - but with a time limit, the stakes are high, the pressure mounts and the adrenaline races!
Social - Teamwork is a paramount to success when solving an escape room. It’s vital that puzzles be constructed with groups in mind. Not only is a puzzle more satisfying to solve with others, it also reflects real-life scenarios more closely, thus benefiting the end users as they learn to hone traits they will need in the future.
Objective - Every escape room has a clear objective. Often, this is to escape. Giving users an exciting purpose creates strong engagement. The more satisfying the objective, the more compelling the experience.
Story - Everyone has a story, but sharing that story is vulnerable. Will people like it? Will they care? When a story is embodied in an exciting gamified format, it invites other to participate in that story, to become a character, live a mission, and arrive at a destination. In fact, narrative drives every other element of the escape room.
